Sacramento Bee: In a unanimous vote Tuesday night, the council agreed to enter into an exclusive negotiating agreement with the development team behind a proposal for a new sports and entertainment arena at the downtown railyard.
The National Basketball Association and the Sacramento Kings had already jumped into the plan by developers Gerry Kamilos and David Taylor.
Over the next 120 days, city staff will evaluate the proposal, known as Convergence. The focus in the early weeks of the negotiating term will be on inspecting the financial feasibility of the project and looking at the need for special state legislation.
